A house on a Brook

Fritz Schneider's ancestors came from Saurland. His great-grandfather bought the buildings and grounds in about 1900 from a Dean by the name of Schwunk. The historic property is today 3.500 square meters in size, 2 houses stand on it which form the focal point. The main house was at that time a big agriculturally used half-timber house with a restaurant (Schneider Inn) and a grocery. In front of it, there was a large area with a wide bridge over the Brook. The house burned down in 1931 because of a short in the foundation walls. It was restructured, this time with solid firebrick so that it should never burn down completely again. In the Second World War the front of the house was shot up. Thanks to the bricks, only holes in the brickwork occurred from grenade hits, which could be repaired later. The house experienced fire damage again in 1975. This time it was arson. It was restored and rebuilt again . Today, it is managed as an Italian restaurant. (Bella Roma) and offers 6 Families living space.
